Hamas fabricates the capture of an IDF Special Forces soldier
In a video published by Izz ad-Din Al-Qassam Brigades Military Media on May 26, 2024, Palestinian terrorists of Hamas movement can be seen dragging the alleged body of an IDF soldier who was ambushed in an underground tunnel in Jabaliya. Hamas has claimed it has also captured a few of his friends.
In Jabaliya, at that time the 98th “Ha-Esh” Paratroopers Division of the IDF operated, Israeli paratroopers were equipped with M4 carbine NATO rifles.
In the video, Hamas publishes footage of a Czech-made M-CZ Scorpion EVO 3 A1 submachine gun not seen being used by any IDF soldier in Gaza. Moreover, Czech-made guns were seen being used by Hezbollah SOF "Radwan Force" in a photo posted near April 17, 2024

On June 1, 2024, Izz ad-Din Al-Qassam Brigades Military Media published a video of Abu Obeida (Al-Qassam Brigades spokesman) describing the events of the alleged capture of Israeli soldiers in a tunnel in Jabaliya. In the video, an alleged photo of one of the soldiers was shown without any name or ID.“research themselves the identity of the soldier”.
Online observers who have seen the video have noted that the alleged soldier doesn’t have the appearance of an ethnic Jew or Arab Israeli and have suggested that he may be a mecenary from a north African or Arab descent used by Izz ad-Din Al-Qassam Brigades in Gaza.
